Congratulations to All Teams on a Winning Season!

John Jay Youth Football and Cheer ended a successful 2022 season, with Westchester United Football League victories and national recognition from USA Football.

The program, which registered close to 100 youth football players and more than 50 youth cheerleaders this year, ended the season on a series of high notes.

The third and fourth grade team took home first place in the league, finishing the regular season undefeated with a 6 - 0 record, followed by a victory in a cross-county bowl game against Harrison.

The fifth and sixth grade team wrapped a perfect regular season with an 8 - 0 record and a bowl game victory over Mamaroneck to remain undefeated.

The seventh and eighth grade team finished the season with a winning record of 6 - 3 and a bowl game victory over Dobbs Ferry.

The 2022 season also saw the addition of cheer into the program. While always a part of its original charter as John Jay Youth Football and Cheer, the cheer component was never really realized until a group of parents came to the board in early August with a plan to start up a youth cheer program. The plan was quickly approved and in less than a month, the youth cheer squad was up and running.

Another big milestone for the program was earning our first-ever, national recognition by USA Football as one of the premier youth football programs in the country. John Jay Youth Football and Cheer was officially recognized with a 2022 Bronze League Excellence Award for raising the standards for youth football leagues nationwide. The award recognizes the program’s commitment to providing a better and safer youth football experience for athletes, parents and coaches. We are now recognized within USA Football’s League Excellence Program for adhering to some of the highest standards across all youth sports to deliver a fun, competitive and player-first environment.
