2026 John Jay Youth Cheer

Welcome to John Jay Youth Cheerleading!

Cheerleading is an athletic sport built on teamwork and leadership. John Jay Youth Cheer is an inclusive, friendly recreational cheerleading program that welcomes new and returning athletes; no cheer experience necessary!

Cheerleading requires a commitment to a team sport. Cheer squads do not have back-up cheerleaders; if one cheerleader is missing from a practice, game, or competition, their absence affects the entire squad. While we understand life happens, please keep this commitment in mind when registering.

Registration for our 2026 fall/winter season is open now through noon on May 2, 2026.

SPIRIT SQUAD

Rising 1st & 2nd grade

Cost: $150

Spirit Squad offers the fun and excitement of sideline cheerleading without the full commitment. Spirit leaders attend a Spirit Squad clinic led by JJYC Coaches to learn game day cheer material and make friends. There are no additional practices, and spirit leaders may attend whichever home football games they choose throughout the season, no minimum or maximum game day count required. At these games, spirit leaders will be invited to join JJYC’s sideline cheerleaders on the cheer track 2x or more per quarter throughout the entirety of the football game to perform. Our fun program is rooted in athleticism and skill-building with a strong focus on confidence, teamwork, and leadership. Spirit leaders always steal the show! Our coaches are certified in CPR and CDC concussion protocols, and our cheer directors are certified through YCADA, AYC, USA, and Cheer Academy.

includes pom poms, official shirt, game day hair bow, cheer clinic

important dates:

6/7-10 - Popcorn Fundraiser (mandatory participation)

9/10 - Spirit Squad Clinic, 5pm-7pm. Spirit Squad will learn 6 or more cheers, have a pizza party, and take home a fun cheer craft.

PURPLE SQUAD

Rising 3rd & 4th grade

Cost: $250

JJYC’s Purple squad offers a positive and empowering opportunity to learn and excel in the sport of game day cheerleading. Our fun program is rooted in athleticism and skill-building with a strong focus on confidence, teamwork, and leadership. No cheer experience necessary! Our coaches are certified in CPR and CDC concussion protocols, and our cheer directors are certified through YCADA, AYC, USA, and Cheer Academy.

includes an official squad t-shirt, pom poms and bow, cold weather cheer gear

uniforms are a separate expense (approx. $250) that will be paid for in early June

6/7 - Uniform Fitting Day at The Pulse (mandatory)

6/7-10 - Popcorn Fundraiser (mandatory participation)

7/11 - Cheer Academy Summer Camp

9/24 - Tentative Mom’s Night Out at The Boro

11/17 End-of-Season Celebration

GOLD SQUAD

ONYX SQUAD

Rising 7th & 8th grade

Cost: $250

Onyx Squad is a competition-only squad that prepares cheerleaders for high school cheerleading. Our competition program is rooted in athleticism and skill-building with a strong focus on confidence, teamwork, and leadership. No cheer experience necessary! Our coaches are certified in CPR and CDC concussion protocols, and our cheer directors are certified through YCADA, AYC, USA, and Cheer Academy.

uniforms are a separate expense (approx. $200) that will be paid for in early June

Onyx Squad clinics, practices, and competitions are mandatory. We will excuse 3 absences from the start of the first clinic to the last practice; further absences may result in your cheerleader having a smaller role in the competition routine, including being reassigned a role. Please do not commit to Onyx Squad if you cannot commit to the schedule.

practice schedule is tentative pending confirmation from JJMS. Scenario 1: Tuesday’s & Wednesday’s 9/8-12/9 at JJMS; 6:30pm to 8pm OR scenario 2: Wednesday’s & Friday’s 9/9-12/11, JJMS, 6:30pm to 8pm

during competition season, practice may be extended or extra days added on, if needed.

competitions are in Mahopac, White Plains, Yorktown, Carmel, Somers

Competition dates are: 10/18, 10/25, rest are TBD

2026 John Jay Youth Football

Welcome to John Jay Youth Football!

We are happy to have you with us for our 2026 Season.

Roster spots for for all teams are limited. We will be waitlisting as no team can accommodate more than 36 players.

** If your son will be playing on our 7/8 team - please note that your son must also be on the John Jay Modified Football roster by September15th. **

We are happy to present 2 Payment Options for the 2026 Season.

$425 - Discounted registration fee if paid fully upon initial registration.

$475 - Split registration fee with an initial non-refundable payment of $250 for your player's spot on our rosters. Second payment of $225 due by 6/1/26.
